Concern about insecurity grows among the residents of Nossa Senhora do Monte as the festive season approaches

Residents in locations across the parish have reported a noticeable increase in crime during this time of year. The most common crimes include home burglaries and robberies in busy areas.

In an interview, Maria da Silva, a longtime resident of Nossa Senhora do Monte, shared her concern: "Every year during the holidays, we worry about our safety and that of our loved ones. It's sad that this period of celebration is being marked by these incidents."

Local authorities are aware of these concerns and have promised to increase police presence in key areas of the parish during the festive season. Additionally, they are encouraging residents to take precautionary measures such as avoiding displaying valuables, locking their homes securely and reporting any suspicious activity to authorities.

The recently installed Police Station Commander expressed in a recent interview his determination to ensure the safety of residents: "We understand the concerns of our community and are committed to taking measures to ensure that everyone can enjoy the festivities with peace of mind. Security of our citizens is our priority."
